These oilers are scaled down versions of those prized by collectors even today. They were widely used to oil bearings on a continuous basis by metering the oiling rate. Both models have an adjusting needle to control the oiling rate and a transparent housing to show the amount of oil remaining. The 1/4-40 MTP model has a screw-in plug to prevent dirt from getting into the oil during operation plus a sight port which allows the operator to visually see the actual oiling rate.
